Shema is built by Christians, for the church. We think you deserve to know what the people making your Bible app actually believe, so here it is plainly.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, trustworthy and authoritative for faith and life. Shema exists to help you read it, hear it, and remember it — never to sit above it. When anything in this app disagrees with Scripture, Scripture is right.
We hold to historic Christian orthodoxy as confessed by the church across the centuries and summarized in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds:
Shema is used by believers across many traditions and in many languages. On matters where faithful Christians have long disagreed — church government, baptism, the gifts, the details of the end — we do not take sides, and we do not build the app to push you toward one. Your pastor and your congregation are the right place for those conversations.
Shema was built to help you remember what your pastor preached — not to replace them. If this app ever becomes a reason to disconnect from a local church, we have failed at the thing we set out to do. Use it to show up on Sunday better prepared and to carry the message through your week.
