Shema: Bible Clock for Apple TV · Effective September 14, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Shema. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. We've kept them short and in plain language.
These terms cover the Apple TV app. Shema: Sermon Notes & Bible Study, the iPhone app, is a different product and has its own terms at shemaai.com/terms.
Shema: Bible Clock turns an Apple TV into a clock that shows a verse matching the time — John 3:16 at 3:16 — over public-domain paintings. It includes Bible translations, a gallery of artwork, weather, and the option to use your own photographs as the background.
Every translation stays free, whether or not you buy Shema+. We do not put a price in front of scripture. Shema+ sells access to the wider art gallery and to features we wrote ourselves; it never sells the Bible.
Most translations are in the public domain and are included with the app. A few translations are provided under licence from Faith Comes By Hearing, and remain the property of their publishers. Publisher copyright notices are shown in the app under Settings › About, and you agree to the restriction that those translations may be read within Shema but not extracted, copied, or redistributed.
Paintings in the app are public-domain works, drawn from The Metropolitan Museum of Art (Open Access, CC0), the Art Institute of Chicago (CC0), and Wikimedia Commons. Their credit lines are shown in the app.
Shema Originals are paintings made for this app and owned by Kola Systems LLC. They are licensed to you for viewing inside Shema only. They may not be extracted, copied, redistributed, or used to train a model.
If you choose to show your own photographs, you keep every right to them. Shema reads the iCloud Shared Album you pick in order to display it, and nothing more. Your photographs are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. See our Privacy Policy.
Use Shema lawfully. Don't try to break, overload, or misuse the service, and don't attempt to defeat the restrictions above on licensed scripture or on our own artwork.
Shema offers a free tier and an optional upgrade, Shema+, in two forms.
Use of the app is also governed by Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement.
Weather comes from Open-Meteo, and artwork images are fetched from the museums named above. Those services are outside our control, and Shema does not guarantee their availability. The bundled public-domain translations work with no internet connection at all.
Shema is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the extent permitted by law, Shema is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app.
We may update these terms; we'll change the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
